Alton Byrd is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Emerge Risk Holdings, leading the firm’s strategy to build a next-generation specialty (re)insurance brokerage focused on emerging markets.
He brings over 20 years of experience across insurance and reinsurance, with a track record of delivering complex risk solutions, structuring reinsurance programs, and building strong relationships across global markets. His career has been defined by a commitment to aligning capital with opportunity—helping clients manage risk while enabling growth.
At Emerge Risk Holdings, Alton is responsible for overall strategy, client engagement, and market development, with a particular focus on bridging global insurance capacity with local market needs. He is also the driving force behind the firm’s social impact mission to support the development of future financial and risk management leaders across Africa.
